Every 4 years the party goes through reorganization and select new local leadership. These people help to direct strategy, messaging, and day to day operations for the Democratic party in Jefferson County. These offices are broken down by precinct and legislative district. Each precinct elects Precinct Chairs (man, woman, and youth under 35) in their community to serve as local leaders. From there, the Precinct Chairs vote on the next level of party leadership. Precinct chairs also meet to nominate candidates for special elections in their district when necessary.
